Or an empty can, or any container for that matter?

(this has been around since we were little and used to contain candies)

Our dad has a habit of transferring food or tea bags into different containers. He removes the teabags from their original container and place them together with other sorts of tea bags in different cans.

He puts the cookies and junkfoods together in a recycled airtight container or any bottles or can. It’s okay to shift their containers, but just not mixing the contents all together. This will spoil the taste of the food especially when mixed together, overlooked and forgotten it was transferred there in the first place.

(the contents of these containers have been altered)

And when we try to find something, we have to open each can in order to know what’s in them. It’s not easy to identify the contents or rely on our memory since the containers look the same and the contents are all mixed up. We find some expired goods in them because they are tucked inside the cans. We tried sorting several times already, but the cans keep piling up as my dad either buys or receive new containers he could keep. Fancy that! The storages are increasing as well as the displaced contents. It would be a greater challenge to finding the things or food for that matter that needed finding.

Maybe the next step would be putting labels on the cans and jars, since getting rid of them is not an option; at least not in our world. Yes, marketing does work when they attach “free” items in the goods being sold in the supermarket. The containers, mugs, and other free items do attract the average buyer, especially the ones who love containers. My mom for one is an avid collector of cute spoons and cups. You could just see the horror on my sister’s face when she sees how my mom eyes the already used spoon from an ice cream store. These habits are hard to give up, I think, the best we can do is manage them. To reuse the collected items is good, so thumbs up for that to dad (except they’re way too many and we’re hoping to eat the food from their original containers first if that’s possible) as compared to our mom who hides the collected items in the closet.

I have found the jars useful for the coffee filters and coffee beans we keep.
